Dead Poets Society — What an Inspiring Movie

The two poems that follow are inspired from watching Dead Poets Society

Robin Williams

Dead Poets Society. I had heard about it over the years. Only last night did I finally have a chance to watch it. Robin Williams plays John Keating.

John Keating, the newly hired English professor sets the stage for a different approach to learning. As I sat in his classroom, I thought, may be I’ll learn a thing or two about writing poetry and improve the way I craft my words…

I was in for a surprise. May be there is no other way to write poetry than to feel the words yourself as deeply as possible.

Right after the movie was over, I blinked my sleepy eyes. Right then I received a download of the words of this poem which I‘ve titled Death. Enjoy.

And just like that
The light will be gone
When you close your eyes
For the very last time

Just like that, my friend
Night will fall upon you
There will be no dawn
Following that night

Your regrets about
The things you didn’t do
You were dead
Long before you died
